Hi Dancers!

I found a really great dance blog out there for tap dancers! You will find information on different classes, steps, shows, youtube links, music….and more! It’s called The Tap Dance Blog, and its updated regularly by well known tapper,Terrence “Taps” Bennett.

Link: click here ==> The Tap Dance Blog

Want to learn tap from one of the best tap dancers on the planet? Thanks to the internet we can! We are very lucky that Gregory Hines created an online classroom that teaches the history of tap, the biographies of some of taps best performers, and maybe a few tap steps along the way! The best thing is that it is 100% FREE!!

I found this great link at The Tap Dance Blog.

A Great Performance

Anna, Lauren and Teaghan in Chasing Cars (2008)

Dance~

v., danced, danc·ing, danc·es.

v.intr.

1. To move rhythmically usually to music, using prescribed or improvised steps and gestures.

…but dance is so much more than this! Dance has the power to move people, to make them think, make them feel, make them see a choreographer’s story or point of view. It’s the dancers job to portray that. And if given the chance to loose oneself in “the dance”, the dancer grows as a person and as a performer.

Here is a great example of dancers pushing themselves to the limits in order to bring choreographer Sonya Tayeh’s piece “Plastic City” to life. (Piece found at http://danceruniverse.com)
